Maranello, 17 December – With a new Formula 1 season already on the horizon, every little detail counts, not just in terms of the new car project but also when it comes to physical fitness, for the drivers of course, not forgetting everyone who will be working at the track during what is shaping up to be the longest season in the history of Formula 1. As always, it’s the detail that makes the difference and at Maranello, everyone is well aware of that. For several years now, the men and women of the Scuderia have undergone an annual check-up, as well as being given a tailor-made fitness programme depending on their specific role. For this work to be carried out as well and as efficiently as possible, the gym within the Fiorano track has undergone a complete rebuild and today, on the occasion of the traditional Christmas lunch, the new facility had its official opening. Cutting the ribbon were Scuderia Team Principal Stefano Domenicali, the President of Technogym Nerio Alessandri, the drivers Fernando Alonso and Felipe Massa and the Commercial Director of Energy Resources, Paolo Zavatta.

The gym covers an area of 250 square metres and is kitted out with 22 pieces of equipment, supplied by Technogym as part of the company’s long term collaboration with the Scudera. The facility was built by Energy Resources, a company based in Iesi and a leader in the field of eco-sustainable construction, making the gym the first Ferrari building to have zero emissions.
