Bologna, 14 November 2011. Tomorrow the new headquarters of Motor S.p.A., the Ferrari and Maserati dealership in Bologna, owned by Andrea Trombini, will open its doors.

The new dealership with a space of over 1,600 square metres can be found in Via Po 2/11, is a logistically perfect location, to improve assistance for Ferrari and Maserati clients.

Apart from the new bi-brand Corporate Identity Ferrari – Maserati the Clients of the two brands can benefit from an ultra-modern showroom of 860 square metres with a reception area, a wide exhibition area, a lounge with Wi-Fi network and an area for personalisation, where two ateliers can be found dedicated to the creation of highly-personalised vehicles with the possibility to see and touch the quality of the materials, leathers and steering wheels and where it will be possible to consult a wide range of personalisation options in the tradition of “tailor-made”.

The new dealership offers a service area of over 675 square metres for all kinds of interventions connected to the Sauro Garage with its over 40 years of experience and the highly specialised mechanics, on hand for the Clients. The garage also offers the possibility of restoring historical cars.

The inauguration in Bologna is also an occasion for Maserati and Ferrari to present the two latest models to the Clients of the two brands: the new Maserati GranCabrio Sport, which had its premiere at the Car Show in Geneva, and the Ferrari 458 Spider, which has been presented to the public at the IAA Car Show in Frankfurt.

The Maserati GranCabrio Sport, thanks to specific stylistic and functional interventions, is the expression of a perfect alliance between the elegance, shared by all of the cars with the Trident, as well as improved sportiness and aggressiveness, typical for Sport versions. The black radiator grille is framed by the optical groups, with accents of a black frame on a white reflector, the angular front-splitter and the lateral panels, completely redesigned and planned in the wind tunnel to optimise aerodynamic efficiency, are painted in the car’s livery. The car’s dynamic style is completed by the 20” Astro Design rims and the two oval exhaust pipes in black.

Meanwhile the GranCabrio Sport’s elegant and aggressive interior has been improved as well thanks to completely redesigned seats, the interventions on the gearbox with standard Maserati Active Shifting paddles and the introduction of two new interior colours for the leather upholstery: Bianco Pregiato and Grigio Chrono.

The GranCabrio Sport is fitted with a V8 engine with 4.7 litres, generating 450 bhp (331 kW) at 7,000 rpm, and an automatic ZF gearbox with 6 gear and MC Auto Shift software. The GranCabrio Sport’s top speed is 285 km/h. The car’s handling has been optimised regarding its speed, also thanks to a sportier set up of the active Skyhook suspension system and the introduction of an even more reactive braking system.

The Ferrari 458 Spider enhances the range of the Prancing Horse with a sporty two-seater with mid-rear engine. For the first time in a model with this specific architecture the car is fitted with a retractable hard top in aluminium. The retractable top’s technology offers, compared to traditional soft tops, a weight reduction of 25 kg, while improving the acoustic and thermic comfort in the car with the top closed. The Ferrari 458 Spider, planned to be driven under the open sky, sports, compared to the Coupè version, a different suspension set up, a sturdier engine sound as well as a different set up of the accelerator pedal. A first is also the wind stop in glass, which is controlled electronically and guarantees a cockpit where conversation can be held to up to a speed of 200 km/h.

The 458 Spider is fitted with an 8-cylinder engine with 4499 cm3 and 570 bhp, awarded with the International Engine Award of the Year 2011. The engine, with the F1 double-clutch gearbox accelerates the car from 0 to 100 km/h in less than 3.4 seconds and up to a top speed of 320 km/h.

The 458 Spider’s tail is extremely innovative with flying-buttress styling to improve the airflow towards the engine cover and the inlets for the clutch and gearbox oil radiators. The new technical solutions regarding the car’s chassis ensure the same structural rigidity with the top open or closed. The result is a car able to offer unique driving emotions, exceptional Ferrari performance and the pleasure of driving an open car.
